Celebrating One Family Illinois’ Caseworkers
October 11-15, 2015, was designated by the Case Management Society of America as National Case Management Month. To show our appreciation for the work of our Child Welfare Specialists, Child Welfare Specialist Supervisors, and In-Home Family Services Specialists, we held our first-ever Caseworker Appreciation Luncheon at Papa Joe’s Italian Restaurant in Orland Park on October 14, 2015.
CEO Tim McCormick’s opening remarks focused on the importance of integrity in the Caseworkers’ work because they need to meet varying and sometimes competing demands from the Foster Parents, judges, supervisors, other administrators, and at the same time, the Caseworkers must focus on the welfare of the children. Twenty-five employees attended the luncheon and had an enjoyable time. We look forward to continuing this tradition in the coming years.
In addition to our internal celebration, two employees of One Family Illinois received acknowledgement for their work from outside of the organization. The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services Office of Legal Services offered special recognition to Traci Hall, Child Welfare Specialist and LaTonya Allen, Child Welfare Supervisor, both at our Chicago Village. On one particularly complex case, the Office stated in a letter to the Director of the Chicago Village “their preparedness, diligence and effort is appreciated by all.” Job well done, Traci and LaTonya!
