CEO Message: A Mother’s Day Thought

SHE IS A WOMAN OF COURAGE – She has the resolution to uproot her life to live in a community setting and take on every possible task, 24-hours a day with endless challenges, and still have the energy to smile when the children in her care create their small miracles. She embodies a courage that opens the doors of each child’s heart, so as to renew hope in their souls.

SHE IS A WOMAN OF COMPASSION – Often guided by deep faith that heals all the various levels of brokenness and pains, she holds within her a kindness that is enduring and selfless. A heart that is moved to advocate, act, and care for those most vulnerable. All the while, she creates a new vison for how children can live in our society trusting that goodness, benevolence, and empathy can and does exist in our world.

SHE IS A WOMAN OF COMPELLING LOVE – A love that allows every child to experience that they belong to someone. This trusted, authentic love will guide children on their journey to their forever home knowing always that the love they experienced with SOS Ilinois was needed, real, and life sustaining. It is a love that brings joy to each life at a time when such love was needed.

This (and so much more) is who our amazing One Family Illinois Foster Mothers are – time and time again.

Our society, our world needs these incredible women more than ever. From every child we have cared for . . . and for all of those who may one day need our help.
