As we start the fall season, we have so much for which to be grateful and to anticipate.
A new school year is an important launching point for the fall transition. Like many families and communities, we are welcoming the start of a new academic year along with a new season. We must credit the donors and supporters of our 2nd Annual Back-to-School Supply Drive, for helping us make a smooth transition. Thanks to this support, we were able to send our children back for a great year, prepared and ready.
Our community and extended family truly values the educational development of our youth and helping them grow in a well-rounded way. Evening of Hope is one occasion that truly exemplifies this commitment. Our annual fundraising event, Evening of Hope is an important chance to celebrate the brothers and sisters we serve, reflect on accomplishments and positive outcomes, and be inspired to continuously better care for them. The 2016 event is on October 20, 2016, and is another important sign of fall at One Family Illinois.
Every day, our hardworking and dedicated Foster Parents and staff contribute to a mission to provide a safe, stable, and healing place for the youth in our care.
We recently had the honor of being recognized by NBC Chicago for our effort toward “Making a Difference” in Chicago. It is encouraging to know that there are so many individuals and groups in Chicago who are committed to positively impacting the community. It is an important reminder that the daily work we do together contributes to that greater good.
As the days become shorter we won’t forget that each minute of the day matters, and with your help we will do our best to make a difference—even if small—every day.
