One Family Illinois is making a difference with a different approach to foster care.
One Family Illinois was recently recognized on NBC Chicago’s “Making a Difference” as an organization positively impacting Chicago communities. “Making a Difference” highlights Chicagoans who “face down uncertainty, rise to the challenge and help others to Make a Difference.”
A very important part of how we make a difference is in the uniqueness of our model of care. It differs from traditional foster care in emphasizing the following four components:
1. Children live together with their siblings.
2. Children receive care and support from a full-time, professionally trained Foster Parent.
3. Children grow up in a private, single-family home.
4. Children are supported by the Village, designed as an intentional community of care.
We are honored to be in company with extraordinary civic-minded individuals and organizations impacting change in Chicago.
