Read about Delphine F. Rankin’s Sibling Story
Delphine, the youngest of seven siblings, all girls, grew up cherishing the special bond she shared with her sisters. Despite their age gap, her sisters served as guides, companions, and supports.
Delphine shared memories of watching her sisters prepare for family gatherings, especially Sunday dinners. The kitchen was always filled with the aroma of her favorite foods but also laughter. Growing up the youngest, Delphine’s sisters were her role models, teachers, and her biggest cheerleaders.
As Delphine ascended to her role as CEO of One Family Illinois, she carried the impact of those relationships with her. From sharing life’s joys, to drawing strength from one another’s presence, Delphine’s childhood experiences laid the foundation for her profound understanding of the significance of sibling connections. With those experiences in mind, Delphine has championed One Family Illinois’ program model, which prioritizes the preservation of sibling bonds and the creation of stable, nurturing family environments for children in need.
