During Black History Month, One Family Illinois is honoring the contributions of Black Americans by offering events and service projects for our children and families to learn from, take part in, and enjoy.
As part of our month-long Black History Month activities created by our Racial Justice Committee, we are holding a book drive through our Amazon Wish List to create opportunities for under-served children through literacy. Reading is the single most important skill a child needs — yet many children lack access to books. Through this initiative we are working to make books accessible to children in foster care living in our One Family Illinois Villages.
When you support our book drive – you are committing to increasing book ownership and improving literacy. Through our Amazon Wish List, we will deliver age-appropriate, high-interest, and culturally relevant books children our children deserve.
We need your help to continue increasing book ownership to children in foster care in Illinois. By donating books, you’re helping our children reimagine the world and envision a better, more equitable, and just future.
